The Super Coat Fund was started because folks should never have to choose between things like food and medication versus staying safe from the cold. Coats for larger bodies are both expensive and hard to find. We use our knowledge of plus size clothing and where to find it, as well as our resources to get the most coats we can for folks who need them in the Twin Cities metro area. We prioritize BIPOC and folks who wear the largest sizes.

We’ll be giving out stipends this year again! Our hope is to give out $75 stipends again. Because we didn’t have any swaps this year, including a virtual swap, we are starting from $0. We need extra help with donations this year. Please donate and share if you’re able!

Q&A update:

Q: Are you still accepting donations?
A: Yes! We’ll keep accepting donations until Nov 21 (which means you can still enter to win our giveaways). We may do another big push if we get a significant amount of new coat requests.

Q: Can I still apply?
A: Yes! Apply until Nov 21!

Q: What happens if you have more donations than coat requests?
A: people who need coats will get larger stipends! The $75 goal is the minimum. Larger stipends can help buy people better coats, or other winter gear like hats/gloves/boots
