Our next swap is September 25th, 2016. Get pumped, folks!
HOW IT WORKS
We collect donated clothing in advance, sort and organize it by size, and set up a convenient shopping environment for everybody to enjoy on the day of the swap (September 25th). We will be accepting donations now until September 20th.
You can drop off donations at The Smitten Kitten (at 3010 Lyndale Ave Minneapolis, MN 55408) any time during business hours. Just ask whoever is working, they’ll happily accept your donations. You can also schedule a donation pick up or drop off by contacting swap organizers Hannah and Angela directly via facebook, or using the contact form below.
WHAT TO DONATE
We ask that donations be clean (washed, please!), free of pet hair, and as close to odorless as possible. We are accepting garments in a unisex size 2X and up, women’s size 20 and larger, or clothing with at least a 40 inch waist. Clothing for all genders is welcome – including casual, business, all seasons, swimwear, pajamas, accessories and shoes of any adult size. Please no socks or undergarments. Accessories, such as jewelry, ties, shoes and purses will also be accepted.
ON THE DAY
On Sunday, September 25th everyone is invited to join us at YogaQuest in Minneapolis to look through all the awesome donated items and pick out some new looks! Exact times TBA.
There is no cost for clothing, and no limit on how much clothing you can take from the swap.
We are asking swap attendees to pay an admission fee, so that we can pay to rent the space and cover costs including future clothing rack rental and web hosting fees.
Admission is on a sliding scale, $5-$10 dollars. Please plan to pay what you can at the door – no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
THE VENUE
We’re excited to bring the Super Swap to YogaQuest, a body positive yoga studio in uptown Minneapolis. YogaQuest has been creatively engaging with the geek community in inclusive, body positive ways since 2011. Their studio is located inside the building at 2920 Bryant Ave S, around the corner from the Bryant-Lake Bowl. There is parking on the street, and spots available in the parking lot behind the building. The building has two entrances – the front door has one step up, the back door has no steps. There is a short, gradual ramp in the hallway leading to YogaQuest’s door.
The building has a unisex, single stall bathroom in the hallway just outside YogaQuest, which can also be used for privacy when trying on clothes.
You are also welcome and encouraged to try on clothes within the larger space, as long as there’s no nudity and you respect the boundaries of those around you.
We recommend wearing leggings or similar form fitting clothing as an under-layer, it makes it easy to try stuff on without waiting to use the changing area.
